DESCRIPTION:Hybrid Learning (In-Person and Online)\nJoin LACP for an immersive photographic experience at the LA Pride Parade\, one of the city’s most vibrant and historically significant public celebrations. Set against the streets of Hollywood\, this Meet-Up invites photographers to document the energy\, diversity\, and expressive spirit of Pride—from bold visual spectacle and intimate moments to powerful expressions of identity\, community\, and activism. Participants will explore strategies for photographing movement\, crowds\, color\, and emotion while thoughtfully engaging with a live cultural event\, creating images that reflect both the joy of celebration and the deeper narratives of visibility\, resilience\, and belonging that define Pride in Los Angeles.\nThis engaging exploration of Los Angeles is part of LACP’s Meet-Up in LA series of classes\, designed for visual storytellers of all levels. Each class includes an in-person photographic experience centered on a distinctive Los Angeles location or a unique LA event\, followed by an online Zoom session for critique and reflection on the work created.\nStudents will develop their photography skills while capturing the eclectic essence of the city—from its neighborhoods and cultural landmarks to its dynamic public gatherings—with a strong focus on narrative and composition. Participants should be familiar with their cameras (digital cameras are strongly encouraged).\nThis Meet-Up will focus on the LA Pride Parade in Hollywood.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nThomas Alleman is a commercial\, editorial and fine art photographer living and working in Los Angeles. During a 15 year newspaper career\, Tom was a frequent winner of distinctions from the National Press Photographer’s Association\, as well as being named California Newspaper Photographer of the Year in 1995 and Los Angeles Newspaper Photographer of the Year in 1996. As a magazine freelancer\, his pictures have been published regularly in Time\, People\, Business Week\, Barrons\, Smithsonian National Geographic Traveler\, and US News &amp\; World Report\, and have also appeared in Brandweek\, Sunset\, Harper’s and Travel Holiday.\n\nView instructor profile here.\n\n&nbsp\;
