SUMMARY:Platinum/Palladium Printing with Digital Negatives with Victor Ramos (In-Person Learning - One session)
DESCRIPTION:In-Person Learning\nDiscover the refined beauty and extraordinary tonal range of Platinum/Palladium printing in this intensive\, hands-on workshop led by artist and educator Victor Ramos. This one-day class introduces a contemporary approach to one of photography’s most prestigious alternative processes\, using digital negatives to create finely detailed\, archival-quality prints with exceptional depth and subtlety. \n\nDesigned for photographers and creatives of all levels\, this workshop provides a clear\, step-by-step introduction to the platinum/palladium process. Students will learn how to prepare digital negatives optimized for contact printing\, mix and handle sensitized chemistry\, and expose prints using UV light or natural sunlight. Victor will guide participants through coating techniques\, exposure control\, and development methods that reveal the process’s signature range of delicate highlights and rich shadow detail. \n\nIn addition to technical instruction\, the class emphasizes creative decision-making\, including contrast control\, image calibration\, and tonal adjustment for expressive results. Whether working from digital captures or smartphone images\, participants will explore how to translate contemporary photographs into elegant\, museum-quality prints.
