Designed for photographers seeking to strengthen their technical foundation\, this workshop explores the full analog workflow—from exposure and metering to field discipline\, camera operation\, and intentional image-making.\n\nWorking both in the field and in structured shooting scenarios\, participants will gain practical experience using film-based systems while learning how to slow down and refine their visual decision-making process. Emphasis will be placed on understanding light\, composition\, and subject response through the deliberate pace that analog photography demands.\n\nNick Carver will demonstrate his approach to location-based shooting\, including problem-solving in real time and adapting to environmental conditions. Group critiques and guided discussions will reinforce technical learning while encouraging participants to develop consistency and confidence in their analog practice.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n\n\nNick Carver is a working photographer and photography instructor based in Southern California with a professional career spanning more than two decades. Although his commercial work hinges primarily on digital photography\, his passion is fueled by a love for analog film in medium and large formats. Through his YouTube channel and online courses Nick has sought to entertain viewers while educating them on topics ranging from large format view camera control to precise exposure metering to fine art printing. His online courses boast students in over 30 countries on 6 continents and his YouTube channel reaches thousands of photography enthusiasts across the globe. His body of work centers on imagery of the American Southwest\, mid-century architecture\, and Southern Californian urban landscapes photographed using a variety of film formats.
