Photography and artists books pair perfectly together. In this webinar, Zoe Strauss will be going over how to construct a drum bound book, perfect for displaying photos. This structure lays flat when open and due to the construction, you’re able to mat the photos in.

Zoe Strauss ( is an interdisciplinary artist focusing primarily in artists’ books, fiber arts, and photography. Strauss’s work has themes of sentimentality, the importance of friends and family, memory, and the use of technology in the present era. A large portion of their work highlights the importance of impactful life events and the ways in which they linger.

Zoe was born in Seoul, South Korea and grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana where they first considered a career in the arts; taking mostly photography classes, and beginning their exploration into book arts her junior year of high school. They currently reside in Chicago and earned their BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in May of 2021.
