Online Learning Class
Introduction to Adobe Photoshop is a core fundamental class for photographers. Using Adobe Photoshop CC 2023, the course teaches the most important tools for retouching, precise image adjustments, combining multiple images using layers, and helping students to understand the process behind color correction. Josh emphasizes a ‘non destructive’ workflow using layers so the original image is unharmed. Many of the new “Artificial Intelligence” will be discussed with an understanding of when they can be beneficial. This class is centered around a photographer’s approach towards Photoshop and practical uses in Photography. The class will cover:

The goal of the course is to develop each student’s ability to work with Adobe Photoshop CC 2023 while having fun in the process. Assignments will be distributed to the class to follow along and practice with. Additionally students will have opportunities to work with their own images.
Dahn Hiuni is a Los Angeles-based visual artist, graphic designer and academic. His work has been presented at such venerable New York venues as P.S. 122, Franklin Furnace, Artists Space and Thread Waxing Space. Other exhibition venues include the Delaware Center for Contemporary Art, the Art Gallery of Ontario, Cleveland Performance Art Festival, and the Lancaster Museum of Art. His work is part of the permanent collection of the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis. Additionally, Mr. Hiuni’s work has appeared in The New York Times, The Huffington Post, and The Dramatist.
As graphic designer, Mr. Hiuni has had many high-profile clients, including Pearson Publishing, Clairol, Independent Productions Fund, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Present Theater Company, New York International Fringe Festival and New York Department of Cultural Affairs.
As professor/lecturer, Mr. Hiuni has taught at Pratt Institute, School of Visual Arts, FIT, Hofstra, Bucknell, SUNY, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Museum of Modern Art, and the Provincetown Art Association & Museum. He holds an MFA in studio art and an interdisciplinary PhD in Art History/Art Education, both from Penn State. He is adjunct professor of art at Woodbury Universityand Distinguished Instructor at UCLA Extension.

- Skill/Experience Level: This class is open to students using a Macintosh OSX operating system OR a PC Windows operating system. Students should arrive to class with the latest version of Adobe Photoshop installed via the Creative Cloud. For the ultimate online experience, dual monitors are suggested (not required) for this class.
