A new four-part series of two-hour classes dedicated to the iPhone photography. Students can register for a single ticket or the entire four-part series. Students registering for the entire four-part series will receive the fourth class free of charge.
Saturday, September 18, 1-3 pm PST How to Effectively Use Your iPhone Camera
The “BEST camera is the one you have with you” and we all have our mobile smart phones with a built-in camera with us ALL the time. Let’s talk about how to best utilize our camera phones. We will spend time together, not only looking at, but completing a hands-on approach for “best practices” on the use of our camera phones and how to improve our photography.
Saturday, October 16, 1-3 pm PST Cool Camera Phone Applications for Inspiration
Do you capture images with your smart phone, then your instructor Ford Lowcock will introduce you to several phone apps to enhance your enjoyment of photography through your camera phone. Ford will introduce you to additional camera capture apps and why you may want to download and use them. Ford will also introduce you to additional image altering apps that just may wet your creative appetites.
Saturday, November 13, 1-3 pm PST Creative Natural Lighting for Family and …. Flowers?
What is a beautiful lighting situation that you can find rather than own expensive equipment to create? Your instructor, Ford Lowcock, will demonstrate various situations that you could possibly find around your home to photograph family members or friends in that creates character. Or, if you greatly enjoy growing various types of flowers, then similar lighting situations could be applied as well and how they may differ. Go beyond the simple “snap” shot to the intended created image with beautiful light.
Saturday, December 11, 1-3 pm PST Making Your iPhone Imagery Sing An Aria
In this final iPhone session, Ford Lowcock, reveals his five secret questions that he asks his clients prior to working with them to create their personal voice and intent in their photographic work. Join in to find out how to bring out you in your work, or how to simply “play” and discover new and unexpected creative imagery that you want to share with friends and family.
Ford Lowcock taught photography full-time for 23 years at Santa Monica College, where he is still teaching part-time. He fell in love with the iPhone camera when he started making 11×17” prints from its files. Ford has taught for Adobe Systems, because of his passion for mobile and Adobe products. Ford brings a wealth of knowledge and insight into this classes and a passion for image making and photography in general. His fine art work has included extended projects on Barton Creek, Austin, Texas, Los Angeles River and The Klamath River in Northern California. Ford’s work has been collected by the Gernsheim Collection, Austin, Texas, Austin History Center, Citibank Corporation and numerous private collectors.
