You are cordially invited to attend our Third Annual Gala/Fundraiser & Birthday Bash for Julia Dean, LACP’s executive director.

The Los Angeles Center of Photography (LACP), a non-profit charitable organization, is hosting a gala/fundraiser & birthday bash for Julia Dean on Sunday, November 12, 3-7 pm at a location TBD. This high-spirited event will include:

• An online auction of beautiful photographic prints
• A live auction of framed or matted prints from noteworthy photographers
• Birthday party for Julia Dean, LACP’s executive director.
• Terrific raffle prizes
• Incredible bid items (in the past such bid items have included a photo shoot with Greg Grorman and lunch with Douglas Kirkland)
• A DJ and dance floor
• Food & drink
• Great camaraderie and great fun!

 

The Cause:

Thanks to our new grant writer, we just received a grant from a local foundation to offer yearlong photo programs to 10 different Boys & Girls Clubs around Los Angeles over the next two years. This grant will enable LACP to reach 150 teenagers. Our hope is to provide the students with cameras at the end of the program, so that they can continue to pursue their photography.

We are holding this fundraiser to raise money to help us expand this program with other Boys & Girls clubs around the city, and to help pay for our Spark Program, which pairs mentors with at-risk teens. Raising additional funds will further allow us to continue offering high quality classes, workshops, exhibitions, lectures and other events year round.

About the Los Angeles Center of Photography (LACP)

LACP (www.lacphoto.org) is a non-profit 501c3 charitable organization dedicated to supporting photographers and the photographic arts. The organization provides high-caliber photography classes, local and travel workshops, exhibitions, screenings, lectures and other events. LACP also provides photography instruction for the Boys & Girls Clubs and personalized mentorship for at-risk teens through the Spark Program.

Devoted to advancing the skills and increasing the personal enrichment of photographers of all experience levels and ages, LACP offers nearly 150 classes and workshops each year with some of the most well-known photographers in the world. Certificate programs are available in addition to a One-Year Professional Program. LACP supports its Members through one-person and group gallery exhibits in addition to producing four annual contests/exhibitions.
