About:
Every year, the Los Angeles Center of Photography presents a remarkable thematic collection of street photography from across the world, exploring innovative photographic perspectives and visual storytelling. The selected works provide a panoramic view of our changing streets and lives, but also of the field of photography, and, specifically, documentary photography.
This year’s presenting artists were selected by street photographer Meryl Meisler.
Register below to join her, the winners and the LACP team for the opening event.

Juror’s Statement:
Street photography is a truth serum. The veils of public life are pulled back and revealed by the photographer’s eye. There is nothing like this moment in time, space, and synchronicity.
Some photos make you laugh, and others make you gasp. Both the photographer and viewer bring their own experiences, a personal Rosetta Stone to interpret and reflect on the image, humanity, and planet earth.
The work submitted to the LACP “Street Photography Around the World” exhibition spanned decades and continents, a true privilege for me to view. It takes guts to put yourself and your art out in the public realm. Thank you to all who shared their photographs. You are gutsy. – Meryl Meisler
