Infrared Photography allows us to see a world that doesn’t exist, a world where our artistic soul resides. Join us as we talk about the soulfulness of storytelling with infrared. From the basics of getting started to the production of sublime finished images.?

Laurie Klein ( has her M.F.A. from Ohio U. and B.F.A. from R.I.T. She studied with Ansel Adams. She is the author of The Female Form with Digital Infrared published by Amherst Media and Infrared Photography: Artistic Techniques for Brilliant Images and Photographing, published by Amherst Media.

She is co-author with her tech partner Shelley Vandegrift of Infrared Photography: Digital Techniques for Artistic Images, 2nd Edition from Amherst Publishing and Hand Coloring Black and White Photography published by Rockport Publishers. She is published in numerous magazines. Her Images have been exhibited nationally and internationally. Laurie teaches her own Boutique Workshops, worldwide and teaches at Santa Fe Photographic Workshops, and Maine Media to name a few.

Shelley Vandegrift ( has been in love with photography from her first days in her father’s darkroom as a young child. From that early time, the technical components of producing a finished work held as much attraction for her as the creative experience behind the lens. After years as a senior corporate executive, Shelley now devotes her full attention to photography. She brings her knowledge of computer systems and processes to her teaching partnership with her artistic mentor and friend, Laurie Klein. Together, they guide other photographers in achieving their own artistic vision through the magic of camera and computer.

Shelley is co-author with Laurie Klein of Infrared Photography: Digital Techniques for Artistic Images, 2nd Edition?from Amherst Publishing. Her work has been featured in B&W Magazine?and has appeared in A. Smith Gallery, Lucas Gallery, and the Art Travelers Gallery at Dallas’s Love Field airport.

This class is part of our Saturday “Webinar” series. These 90-minute online presentations, taught by leading professionals in the field, are designed to be informative and educational. A wide range of topics will be explored. Each webinar will end with Q&A from the audience.
