STREET WEEK in LA – 2018

The Los Angeles Center of Photography is pleased to announce its Fourth Annual STREET WEEK in LA event. What started over a weekend has now broadened to a week – STREET WEEK.
 

February 12-17, 2018

STREET WEEK includes:
* A “Call for Entries” to get your work in LACP’s Fourth Annual “Street Shooting Around the World” exhibition at LACP ($1,000 cash prize)
* Opening reception for “Street Shooting Around the World” exhibition – Friday, February 16, 7-10 pm
* A day of presentations by inspiring street shooters (see below)
* A one-day workshop with Gus Powell, “One Day of Street Photography” – Sunday, February 18, 10 am – 6 pm.
 

The Schedule

Thursday, December 28, 2017: Deadline for entering photographs in the “Street Shooting Around the World” exhibition.
Friday, February 16, 7-10 pm, 2018: Fourth Annual “Street Shooting Around the World” exhibition, opening reception.
Saturday, February 17, 10 am- 7:15 pm, 2018: Hourly presentations by street shooters (See below.)
Sunday, February 18, 10 am – 6 pm: A one-day workshop with Gus Powell, “One Day of Street Photography

Book Signing by Colin Westerbeck – Bystander: A History of Street Photogrpahy

Colin Westerbeck will be at LACP on February 17 to autograph the new edition of his classic book with Joel Meyerowitz, Bystander, A History of Street Photography, originally published in 1994. Out in October, the new, 3rd edition, is 400 pages and contains 300 reproductions, many of them new material by contemporary street photographers. The text has been completely revised and up-dated, including a new section on the history since the first edition wast published.

The book is $65 (cash & checks only, please. No credit cards)
