Immerse yourself in an intense, one-year program of study. Designed for the student passionate about learning photography, the One-Year Professional Program offers an ideal environment for students looking to prepare for college admittance, change career paths, network with fellow photographers, learn from working professionals, or simply refine their photographic skill set.
The One-Year Professional Orogram allows you to take UNLIMITED* classes at the Los Angeles Center of Photography (LACP) and four “Special Guest” workshops. Students who enroll in the program are automatically given bronze level membership, access to the center’s digital lab, guidance throughout the program, and a group exhibition* in the LACP galleries.
You can study with extraordinary photographers like Sam Abell, Susan Burnstine, Keith Carter, Julia Dean, Fran Forman, Greg Gorman, Cig Harvey, Joe McNally, Aline Smithson, Eddie Soloway, Richard Tuschman and Alison Wright, just to name a few.
You can learn Street Photography, Fine Art Photography, Digital Printing, Studio Lighting, Portraiture, Fashion, Documentary, Conceptual Photography, Wet-Plate Collodion, Book Making and much more. You get to choose the classes you want to take. Best of all, you get to spend a year in the vibrant metropolis of Los Angeles completely immersed in photography.
Whether you already have a BFA in Photography or have only been shooting for a few years, LACP has classes for you. We help you select classes to allow you to excel as a photographer.
After completing their one-year intensive study of photography, students will receive a certificate issued by the Los Angeles Center of Photography.

Important Note: Tuition for the One-Year Professional program is only $7,500 for an entire year. (We estimate if you paid for 2-3 classes a semester and 4 “Special Guests” workshops, this would cost around $17,000, which translates into a $9,500 savings!)
Rules and Policies
On occasion a particular class or workshop may cancel due to low student enrollment or unforeseen instructor conflicts. In the event of such an occurrence, the Los Angeles Center of Photography possesses the right in making scheduling decisions. Should the decision be made to cancel a class or workshop, the Los Angeles Center of Photography will not be held liable for any credit or money owed. Students choosing to enroll in the program recognize and acknowledge the risk that a certain class or workshop may cancel without the possibility of the course being offered again.
* Does not include Travel Workshops. Limit of four “Special Guest” workshops. Subsequent “Special Guest” workshops can be purchased for 50% off the tuition.
** Group exhibitions will be held at the Los Angeles Center of Photography. Exhibitions will run for at least two weeks. Students will be responsible for paying expenses associated with producing their artwork, including printing and framing. All opening night reception expenses, such as food, beverage, and security expenses will be paid by the Los Angeles Center of Photography.
***50% of the tuition is due at the time of acceptance and is nonrefundable and nontransferable. The applicable fee covers all tuition except added course fees such as model fees, equipment fees, location permit fees, or any other associated fee listed along with the applicable workshop fee.
The Los Angeles Center of Photography reserves the right to make changes to any of the above policies without notice.
