Donate to the Los Angeles Center of Photography

LACP is celebrating 23 years of business (seven years as a non-profit) and thanks to its Members, Donors and the Board of Trustees, the organization moved into a beautiful new Photo Center in November 2019, just east of Culver City, CA. The 6,900 sq. ft. facility boasts two dedicated classrooms, a spacious digital lab, a darkroom, a library, offices and beautiful new gallery space.

Sadly, the 2020 pandemic forced LACP to close the facility. But despite the challenges of the past year, many amazing things happened …

1. We introduced a popular online Webinar Series on a variety of topics, programmed every Saturday from 10 am – 11:30 am PST.
2. We began hosting online Artist Talks with professionals, instructors and others in our community.
3. We created several online Exhibitions and hosted talks with the participants, including one called “Say What You Want to Say” which gave Black photographers a platform to show their work and talk about how systemic racism has affected their work and careers
4. Our 2021 Summer Youth Program was so popular that we added several additional classes to meet the demand.

But our programming only covers roughly HALF of our operation costs.

Your donation will help invest in a vibrant community of photographers and keep LACP growing and thriving. In addition, you’ll also be supporting our efforts to bring the gift of photography to under-served kids through our free programs at many Boys & Girls Clubs across Los Angeles County.

(The Los Angeles Center of Photography is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt charitable organization. This means that your donation is tax-deductible. You may verify LACP’s status by visiting the IRS website and using EIN # 46-3133016.)
