Professional Advisory Services
Students will receive professional guidance throughout the program.
Virtual office hours will be available the first Wednesday of each month to meet with your student advisor/counselor.
One-Year Professional Certificate
This certificate can be completed in-person and/or online.
Immerse yourself in an intense, one-year program of study. Designed for the student passionate about learning photography, the One-Year Professional Certificate offers an ideal environment for students looking to prepare for college admittance, change career paths, network with fellow photographers, learn from working professionals, or simply refine their photographic skill set.
General Course of Study
This certificate is a hybrid experience, coursework will be completed in-person AND online.
The General Course of Study Certificate Program is designed for the beginning student with no experience. Six classes are required to earn the certificate. Students will learn how to effectively use their digital cameras as well as the basic concepts of photography. One composition class will provide students with an essential understanding of how to compose their images for maximum impact. Students will also learn the two most prominent softwares in the photo industry – Photoshop and Lightroom.
Fine Art, Creative Thinking, and Writing
This certificate must be completed online.
The Fine Art, Creative Thinking, and Writing Certificate Program stirs creative thought and encourages students to closely examine the meaning or story behind their imagery. Students will discover their personal vision and work toward building a portfolio of work. Six classes are required to earn the certificate.
(NOTE: Beginning students who do not know the basic controls of camera operation should complete the General Course of Study certificate program first before enrolling in the Documentary, Street Photography & Photojournalism certificate program or at least take a Basic Photography class.)
Lighting & Portraiture
This certificate must be completed in-person.
The Lighting & Portraiture Certificate Program focuses on the technical and creative aspects of using artificial and natural light. Students will study studio lighting, still life, portraiture, and lighting location. For most of the classes, students will have the opportunity to practice with models. The certificate is composed of five required classes and one elective class.

Documentary, Street Photography & Photojournalism
The Documentary, Street Photography & Photojournalism Certificate Program offers a well-rounded, comprehensive course of study in all three areas. Students will learn how to chronicle events or environments both significant and relevant to history as well as everyday life, how to photograph candidly featuring chance encounters and random incidents within public places, and how to effectively use imagery to tell a news story. Four required classes and one elective class are needed to earn the certificate.

Self-Designed
This certificate can be completed in-person and/or online.
The Self-Designed Certificate Program is a non-structured course of study, giving students the flexibility to create their own curriculum, tailored to their interests or specific needs. It is similar to the One-Year Professional program but for those who do not intend to take unlimited classes. A minimum of six classes are required to earn the certificate, although students may elect to take up eight classes.
Summer Camp Certificate for Teens
This certificate must he completed in-person (online classes are not offered for teens).
The summer camp certificate for teens is specifically designed for students ages 12-18. No experience is necessary to enroll. Four classes are required to earn the certificate (two required and two electives).
