About

Saturday, April 11, 4 pm – 5:30 pm

Join instructor Thomas Alleman for an engaging 90-minute photowalk through the vibrant streets of Little Tokyo in downtown Los Angeles, centered around the playful and unpredictable Holga toy camera. The experience begins in the classroom, where Tom will guide participants through the essentials—demonstrating how to properly load film and make the most of the Holga’s unique aesthetic. Once everyone is ready, students head out into the neighborhood to put their new skills into practice, capturing the textures, light, and character of the city in a hands-on, exploratory way.

This immersive session is perfect for both beginners and seasoned photographers looking to reconnect with analog processes. Participants are welcome to bring their own Holga cameras, or they can purchase one along with film from Freestyle, who will be on site for added convenience.

This photowalk is part of the AnalogCon programming, celebrating the art and joy of film photography in a collaborative, real-world setting.
