About
What does it take to successfully sell fine art photography through an art gallery or a private art dealer? And what do art dealers look for when deciding which photographers to work with?
Join art dealer Darren Ching for an informative presentation exploring the business of selling fine art photography from both sides of the traditional gallery model: the brick-and-mortar gallery and the private dealer practice.
Drawing on his experience running Klompching Gallery and his current work as a private art dealer, Ching will discuss essential tools photographers need to navigate the art market and build successful, professional relationships with art dealers. Topics will include the practical requirements of artist representation, the assets photographers need to have in place, contracts and professional practices, how art dealers discover and select photographers to work with, and the business considerations behind selling fine art photography.
Offering a behind-the-scenes look at the art dealer’s perspective, this webinar aims to demystify the representation process and provide photographers, whether professionals or dedicated enthusiasts, with practical insights into what it takes to bring their work to market and develop productive relationships with art dealers.
This presentation updates Ching’s earlier webinar, Gallery Representation for the Photographer, previously hosted by the Los Angeles Center of Photography (LACP).
