About
Online Learning
How can a photograph of nature become something more than a beautiful representation of what we see? In this six-week online workshop, renowned nature and fine art photographer Tony Sweet invites participants to explore the natural world as a starting point for personal artistic expression.
Through live demonstrations, creative assignments, image reviews, and group discussion, Tony will explore approaches to composition, natural light, abstraction, minimalism, and selective framing. Participants will experiment with photographing flowers, intimate landscapes, textures, and details, while discovering ways to transform familiar subjects through creative vision and intention.
The workshop will also introduce expressive in-camera techniques including intentional camera movement (ICM), image swipes, multiple exposures, and other techniques that can create painterly and dreamlike effects. Tony will share approaches to post-processing that emphasize mood, atmosphere, and visual storytelling, as well as an introduction to the creative possibilities of infrared photography.
Designed for photographers of all levels, this workshop is an opportunity to slow down, experiment, and develop a more personal relationship with the natural world. Whether working with flowers, landscapes, or abstract forms, participants will be encouraged to move beyond documentation and create images that express emotion, imagination, and individual vision.
This course is strictly limited to 12 students.
