Juror Statement

We are in an era of change, social change, political change, climate change. Scientists and professionals in different areas strive to find solutions that address the challenges, as we face severe resource depletion, ecosystem transformation, overpopulation, and species extinction, all of which challenges us as we navigate life during this pandemic time.

This is one of the reasons why…the word HUMANITY came to my mind, especially in this particular moment, during pandemic times, directly affecting us “humans”. Connecting the dots, I draw a map…where Humanity, nature and the four elements started to play a very important role in my process of selection and how to see each photograph.

In the current circumstance of a world health pandemic, human’s immune system becomes essential, and all elements related to the proper alignment of human mental, social and physical well-being are of pertinent analysis and require approach from different perspectives.

“People are the only element that can choose to restore balance” James Balog, The Human Element.
