About the Exhibit

We are pleased to announce LACP’s Seventh Annual Members’ Exhibition. This will be a virtual online exhibition and will run from August 19 – October 19, 2021. A virtual opening night reception is scheduled for Thursday, August 19, 5 pm PST. The juror, LeRonn Brooks, will select images based on creativity, originality, and quality.

What is the “Members’ Exhibition”

The Los Angeles Center of Photography showcases our supporting Members’ work with an annual exhibition. The exhibition, programmed annually in the Summer, is open to Members’ only. If you wish to become a Member, please click HERE.


1st Place winner will receive $500; 2nd Place winner will receive $300; 3rd Place winner will receive $200
Honorable Mentions: Other artists will receive honorable mentions as well.

All Members who have image(s) selected by the juror for the exhibition will be permitted to upload their work on the LACP/Artsy website and offer it for sale with 50% commission to LACP.

The Juror

Dr. LeRonn P. Brooks ( is the Associate Curator for Modern and Contemporary Collections at the Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles. Founded in 1985, the GRI is dedicated to advancing the understanding of the visual arts and their various histories through active collecting and public programs, institutional collaborations, exhibitions, publications, digital services, and residential scholars programs. Dr. Brooks is a specialist in African American art, poetics, performance, and Africana Studies. His interviews, essays on African American art, and poetry have appeared in publications for Bomb Magazine, The Studio Museum in Harlem, Socrates Sculpture Park, The Spelman Museum of Art, Callaloo Journal, The International Review of African American Art as well as The Aperture Foundation, among others. As the lead curator for the Getty’s new African American Art History Initiative, Dr. Brooks is charged with building and developing collections to promote advanced research in the study of African American art history.

Eligibility and Guidelines

This exhibit is open to all LACP Members, both amateur and professional. Please confirm that you are a Member and that your status is up-to-date. LACP invites photographers working in all mediums and styles to take part in the exhibition.

The deadline to send digital files for consideration is Monday, June 21, 2021.

Acceptance Notice

The selection process will be blind. Once the juror has made selections, all entrants will receive an email from LACP with a list of images and artists selected for the show. The selected images and artists’ names will be posted on LACP’s website.

LACP is not responsible for connecting the selected artists with the juror. In addition, LACP reserves the right not to use a particular selected image(s) for promotional purposes if the image(s) is deemed inappropriate for use on LACP’s social media, newsletter feed, and/or on in any other marketing material.

The limit to the amount of images which can be submitted is 30.

Liability & Agreement

Each photographer retains all copyrights to his or her images. Photographers whose submissions are chosen for the exhibition grant the Los Angeles Center of Photography (LACP) the right to use their images for display on LACP’s website and for the purpose of promoting exhibitions, promoting LACP’s programs, and promoting the artist. Promotions and images may also be placed on social networks for LACP with artist credit. Artists grant the use of their image(s) as stated without further contact from LACP. The artist understands that LACP will not be held responsible for loss, theft or other damage, whether caused by the negligence of its officers, members, or others. Photographers are welcome to sell their photos during the online exhibit, with 50 percent commission to LACP. Submission of application will constitute an agreement to all these terms and conditions.
