In this beginning workshop, students will learn all the controls and functions on their digital Single Lens Reflex (SLR) cameras, basic camera operation (including f-stop, shutter speed and ISO), fundamental concepts of photography, and how to control the photograph’s final look.

Join us for an immersive exploration of The Getty Center, a treasure trove of art and history that offers inspiration at every corner.  

The day will feature a guided exploration of The Getty’s photography exhibition, a great way to build inspiration, discuss composition, relevance, and photography as an historical record.

Building on foundational skills, this intermediate-level course deepens students’ technical and creative fluency in studio lighting. Through hands-on exercises and advanced techniques, participants will explore lighting tools, multi-light setups, and visual storytelling across portraiture, still life, and product photography.
