About
Online Learning
“The enemy of photography is convention, the fixed rules of ‘how to do’. The salvation of photography comes from the experiment.”
Open the door to the experimental, inquisitive, playful part of your mind in this six-session online course with Ken Merfeld. Designed to push you beyond traditional boundaries, this class encourages you to explore personal projects that challenge conventions and spark curiosity. You’ll dive into assignments that encourage creative experimentation and receive constructive feedback to refine your work.
Throughout the course, Ken will showcase and discuss both historical and contemporary experimental photography, offering inspiration and insight. This class is all about embracing the unknown and asking, “What if?”—taking your photography to uncharted creative territories. Whether you’re interested in abstract techniques, unconventional methods, or rethinking the rules of composition, you’ll have the freedom to explore and evolve your own style.
