In-Person Learning
A Saturday afternoon of film, photography, and exploring Downtown Los Angeles
Grab your film camera and join Los Angeles Center of Photography for an afternoon of photographing Downtown Los Angeles with photographer Caleb Knueven.
Designed for film photography enthusiasts of all experience levels, this casual, hands-on photo walk will begin at LACP with a brief orientation before heading into Downtown LA. Caleb will lead the group through the streets and surrounding neighborhoods, offering ideas, inspiration, and photographic guidance along the way. Our destination will include Grand Central Market, with plenty of opportunities to photograph architecture, people, details, street life, and the unexpected moments that make Downtown LA such a rich photographic environment. We’ll return to LACP for a casual wrap-up and conversation about the afternoon.
Bring your camera, bring your film, and come ready to explore.
All film cameras and experience levels are welcome—from 35mm and medium format to vintage point-and-shoots and everything in between.

Caleb Knueven is a Los Angeles–based film photographer and creator of the YouTube channel Bad Flashes, where he shares the art and process of shooting film. Raised in a military family, moving every four years shaped his instinct to explore and document the world around him.
His work is drawn to forgotten spaces and the quiet stories they hold. For Caleb, photography is about curiosity, movement, and chasing moments that feel just out of reach.
When he’s not shooting, he’s likely walking the coast with his Leica M6, coffee in hand.
