About

In Community: LACP’s Annual Members’ Exhibition considers the relationship between photography and community building, creative practice and collaboration, and the photographic act as the foundation for connection.

Artists need a network of peers—to share skills and lessons, connect, be inspired and drive their work forward. LACP’s members constitute a community of collaborators, who connect from across the country and the world around their shared dedication and commitment to photography. This exhibition suggests that all images and image-makers need a human mechanism of support and reciprocity as the foundation of their practice, and shines a light on the connections that inform the work. It also considers the act of taking a photograph as the beginning of a conversation that extends beyond the frame.
