About
How might we use writing to enhance (and not merely replicate) the story of our photographs? We will look at examples of photo essays, ekphrastic poems, and long form books that blend words with photographs to learn how to best combine these two mediums to tell a larger story.
Montserrat Andrée Carty is a Spanish-American writer, photographer, and the interviews editor for Hunger Mountain. She also hosts the podcast Musings of the Artist. Her writing and / or photographs have been published in journals including Longreads, Bellingham Review, The Sun and Poetry Northwest. She holds a MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts.
