LACP is excited to announce this year’s honoree and invite you to join us to celebrate his work and support the future of visual storytelling in LA and beyond.
With a career spanning more than four decades, Frank W. Ockenfels 3 has created some of the most distinctive portraits in contemporary photography; from iconic actors and filmmakers to musicians, including over two hundred album covers for some of the leading voices of popular culture, from Bruce Springsteen and David Bowie to Nora Jones and No Doubt.
Ockenfels’ work has appeared in leading publications such as Rolling Stone and Vanity Fair, as well as in numerous film campaigns and creative collaborations. His practice further extends into drawing and collage, further pushing photographic boundaries.
LACP stewards and supports a thriving photographic community centered on the essential art that captures universal moments of reflection, resilience, and light through the lens of Los Angeles. Ockenfels represents the experimental spirit that characterizes this place and its unique perspective, and shares it far and wide.
