About

The application of molten beeswax applied to a photographic image is commonly referred to as photo encaustic. Amanda and Kevin have been creating encaustic imagery and teaching workshops for over twelve years. Consequently, they have realized the necessity of mastering the basics of using the encaustic medium to successfully enhance an image. In this webinar they will discuss preparation of the print and substrate along with proper application of wax to the image, as well as safety concerns. They will also do a brief slide show of completed work.

Amanda Smith & Kevin Tully are the Directors of A Smith Gallery in Johnson City, Texas. Amanda started the gallery in 2010. Kevin came on board two years later. A Smith Gallery is a Fine Art Gallery with a portion of the gallery emphasizing alternative processes. The gallery is a champion of the creative potential of the photographic process through exhibitions and workshops.
