Isadora Kosofsky

Bio

Isadora Kosofsky is a documentary photographer, filmmaker, and speaker based in Los Angeles. Kosofsky is known for her humanistic and embedded storytelling; she has documented healthcare, aging, disability rights, mass incarceration, and the impact of complex trauma, focusing on individual and families for years. A frequent contributor to the New York Times, Kosofsky has worked for National Geographic Magazine, TIME, Le Monde, GEO Germany and many others. She is a TED Fellow, part of an international network of changemakers, and gave a talk at TED 2018 in Vancouver. In 2019, The Royal Photo Society named her one of a hundred “heroines” in photography worldwide. Kosofsky is an Inge Morath Award recipient and has received accolades from the Lead Awards, Getty Images, Ian Parry Foundation, International Academic Forum, Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting and others. She was a Gwen Ifill Mentor through the International Women’s Media Foundation and has guest lectured at CUNY School of Journalism, School of Visual Arts, Art Center College of Design and others. Her book Senior Love Triangle, which focuses on three older people as they navigate romance and intimacy, was published by Kehrer Verlag in 2020. She is currently a part of CatchLight’s Mental Health Visual Desk.
