This online course is designed for photographers who want to use the tools of street photography to explore, engage with, and tell the story of a neighborhood or community. Rather than focusing solely on individual “decisive moments,” this course emphasizes the development of a cohesive photographic project—one in which narrative, context, and visual consistency are as essential as any single image.
In this week-long course, students will learn how to capture compelling images through the lens of street photography while also exploring the art of visual storytelling. Los Angeles is full of vibrant street scenes, architecture, and diverse people, making it a perfect backdrop for this type of work.
In Street Portraiture for Teens, students (ages 15-18) will learn how to capture intimate, unposed portraits in urban environments, honing their ability to spot unique moments and engage with subjects naturally. Led by photographer Todd Felderstein, this hands-on class will develop your storytelling skills, technical expertise, and confidence in creating impactful street portraits, all while pushing your creative boundaries in real-world settings.
