About
Online Learning
Explore the art of visual storytelling in this online, six-session class led by renowned photographer Caleb Cain Marcus. Designed for photographers and creatives who want to turn their images into compelling narratives, this course guides you through the essential principles of sequencing, pacing, and thematic cohesion.
Each week, you’ll work on exercises that help refine your ideas, experimenting with layout, flow, and design to ensure your story unfolds naturally across the pages of a book. Caleb shares insights from his published works, offering guidance on crafting images that communicate emotion, context, and depth. By the end of the class, you will have developed a cohesive photo book concept with mock layouts and sequencing, ready for refinement and eventual production.
Whether your work is documentary, fine art, or personal projects, this course equips you with the tools to transform your photographs into a narrative that resonates.
Caleb Cain Marcus is head of Brooklyn based design studio Luminosity Lab, known for developing the creative strategy, and leading the design of publications for museums, galleries, publishers, and artists. His work has been recognized by the Art Directors Club, AIGA and Tokyo Type Directors Club and is in the collections of the Getty and Metropolitan Museum of Art.
