About
Hybrid Learning
Horizon is an eight-month, industry-focused photography mentorship program at the Los Angeles Center of Photography designed to help emerging photographers build high-end portfolios, gain real-world experience, and confidently transition into professional, client-facing careers.
Headshot & Portraiture with Kharen Hill
The Headshot & Portraiture track is designed for photographers who want to master controlled lighting, efficient workflow, and confident subject direction. With a strong emphasis on studio and natural light techniques, participants learn how to create consistent, professional portraits across corporate, actor, and personal branding contexts. The track covers posing, expression coaching, retouching workflows, and client-facing business practices such as pricing, licensing, and delivery. Through hands-on assignments, critiques, and studio-based sessions, photographers build a polished, market-ready portfolio while developing the skills needed to run a streamlined portrait business.
The first session for this track is scheduled online (virtually) for Monday, April 20th, 7 pm – 9 pm. All subsequent sessions will be scheduled by the Kharen and the group.
