About
Join Seth Greenberg for an exciting photographic exploration of one of Los Angeles’ most vibrant traditions—college football tailgating. In this class, students will focus not on the game itself, but on the lively atmosphere surrounding it. Capturing the spirit of the pre-game tailgates at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, you’ll photograph fans, food, traditions, and the shared energy that defines this iconic event.
Through hands-on guidance, you’ll learn how to compose dynamic shots, focus on candid moments, and craft compelling stories within the context of this communal celebration. Whether you’re a fan of football or simply interested in capturing urban culture, this class will enhance your ability to shoot on-location and tell a narrative through your lens.
This engaging exploration of Los Angeles is part of LACP’s Meet-Up in LA series of classes, designed for visual storytellers of all levels. Each class includes an in-person photographic experience centered on a distinctive Los Angeles location or a unique LA event, followed by an online Zoom session for critique and reflection on the work created.
Students will develop their photography skills while capturing the eclectic essence of the city—from its neighborhoods and cultural landmarks to its dynamic public gatherings—with a strong focus on narrative and composition. Participants should be familiar with their cameras (digital cameras are strongly encouraged).
This Meet-Up will focus on the USC vs. UCLA game.
