In Street Portraiture for Teens, students (ages 15-18) will learn how to capture intimate, unposed portraits in urban environments, honing their ability to spot unique moments and engage with subjects naturally. Led by photographer Todd Felderstein, this hands-on class will develop your storytelling skills, technical expertise, and confidence in creating impactful street portraits, all while pushing your creative boundaries in real-world settings.
In this course, students will learn how to choose and explore a meaningful topic through photography, whether it's capturing the essence of a person, a place, or an abstract concept. In a fun, collaborative setting, we'll focus on visual storytelling, editing, and developing a cohesive series of images that reflect each student's personal vision and style.
This week-long course for teens (ages 15-18) is designed to introduce students to the fundamental operations, techniques, and critical vocabulary of digital photography.
Los Angeles is a massive, sprawling metropolis housing neighborhoods and communities of all shapes and sizes. In this class, students will take advantage of this melting pot of environments and turn their cameras on their neighborhoods in an effort to document their communities.
Have you ever noticed how two photographers can stand in the same place, photograph the same subject, and create completely different images? That difference comes down to choice. Making a strong photograph means intentionally deciding what to include, what to leave out, and how to guide the viewer’s eye through the frame.
