Photographing in the Social Landscape with Thomas Alleman (Hybrid Learning – Six Sessions)
This course explores the "Social Landscape"—the everyday environments shaped by people, culture, and the built world—through the lens of contemporary and historical photography. Students will examine how to photograph the familiar with fresh eyes, developing images that reflect, question, and connect us to the public spaces and shared experiences around us.
In Street Portraiture for Teens, students (ages 15-18) will learn how to capture intimate, unposed portraits in urban environments, honing their ability to spot unique moments and engage with subjects naturally. Led by photographer Todd Felderstein, this hands-on class will develop your storytelling skills, technical expertise, and confidence in creating impactful street portraits, all while pushing your creative boundaries in real-world settings.
