The exhibition will run from March 20 – April 19, 2020 with an opening night reception scheduled for Saturday, March 21, 7-10 pm, 2020. The juror, Douglas Marshall, will choose the most compelling and cohesive bodies of work to exhibit. The juror will choose 8-12 artists to exhibit in LACP’s new East Culver City Gallery. Selected photographers will exhibit a minimum of six images and a maximum of ten. The top prize winner and two honorable mentions will be invited to speak during the exhibition’s artist talk, date TBA.
Douglas Marshall will be present at the opening reception to say a few remarks and selected work will be shown in an online gallery on LACP’s website and featured on social media.
One photographer will be chosen as the top prize winner and will receive $750 cash, a featured two-page spread in LACP’s Summer/Fall 2020 catalog, and invitation to speak during the exhibition’s artist talk, date TBA.
Two honorable mentions will be recognized as well and invited to speak during the exhibition’s artist talk, date TBA.
What is the Project Exhibition?
A project is a cohesive body of work around a theme. The projects submitted can be fine art, street or documentary.
Douglas Marshall is an LA-based independent curator and consultant at Marshall Contemporary. Marshall was formerly Director at Peter Fetterman Gallery, Santa Monica from 2012-2017, and Galerie XII Los Angeles (2018-2019) producing over 60 exhibitions and art fairs dedicated to leading photographers across the history of the medium with a focus on humanism, landscape, pictorialism, and street genres. Through his current roles in the field, Marshall now works to bring emerging and innovative international voices in contemporary photography to the American market through collaborative projects with artists, galleries, and fairs.
LACP calls for entry are open to all photographers, worldwide. We invite photographers working in all photographic mediums, digital, film, mixed and unique processes to participate.
The deadline to send digital files for consideration is Monday, February 3, 2020 by midnight PST. There is no limit to the amount of images which can be submitted.
